ელისაბედ მეორე უკვე 63 წელზე მეტია რაც დიდი ბრიტანეთის დედოფალია. ის ტახტზე 1953 წლის 2 ივნისს ავიდა. ხელისუფლებაში დედოფლის ყოფნის ვადა ამჟამად 23 226 დღეს შეადგენს. ამასთან დაკავშირებით ლონდონში საზეიმო ფეიერვერკი გაიმართება. თავად დედოფალი კი ამ დღეს შოტლანდიაში გაატარებს, სადაც მისი საქმიანი ვიზიტი შედგება.


მას შემდეგ, რაც 91 წლის საუდის არაბეთის მეფე აბდალა იბნ აბდულ-აზიზ ალ-საუდი გარდაიცვალა, 89 წლის ელისაბედ მეორე მსოფლიოში ყველაზე ხანდაზმული მონარქიც გახდა.
