თავდაცვის მინისტრმა საქართველოში ევროკავშირის ახალ ელჩს უმასპინძლა. გაცნობითი ხასიათის შეხვედრაზე ლევან იზორიამ კარლ ჰარცელს თანამდებობაზე დანიშვნა მიულოცა, წარმატებები უსურვა და ევროკავშირის წარმომადგენლობასთან თანამშრომლობის გაღრმავების იმედი გამოთქვა. თავდაცვის მინისტრმა საქართველოში სტაბილურობისა და უსაფრთხოების უზრუნველყოფის პროცესში ევროკავშირის ჩართულობა, ევროკავშირის სადამკვირვებლო მისიის (European Union Monitoring Mission) განსაკუთრებული როლი ხაზგასმით აღნიშნა.

მხარეებმა ყურადღება ევროკავშირის ეგიდით მიმდინარე საერთაშორისო მისიებში საქართველოს კონტრიბუციაზე გაამახვილეს. ლევან იზორიას განცხადებით, საქართველოსთვის ძალიან მნიშვნელოვანია, იყოს ევროკავშირის ერთიანი უსაფრთხოებისა და თავდაცვის პოლიტიკის (CSDP) მონაწილე. შეხვედრაზე საუბარი შეეხო ასევე, საქართველოსა და რეგიონში არსებულ უსაფრთხოების გარემოს.
