M. Night Shyamalan threw an epic Halloween party in Philadelphia on Saturday
night.

The Sixth Sense director, 54, dressed as the villainous Joker for his 'Shyamaween' bash.

His makeup was perfectly creepy and his costume was from the 2008 film The Dark Knight, which saw the
late Heath Ledger play the iconic villain.  

Shyamalan's wife, Dr. Bhavna Shyamalan, 55, looked beautiful in an amber-colored, Victorian era gown with bats all over it.


Her makeup was a cross between zombie and goth as she proudly posed next to her talented husband
who looked adoringly at her.

'Each movie, I feel this way — that I don't know if it'll ever get made.
I don't know if I'll ever get to make another one… "If this is the last one, I want it to just represent me,"' he
continued.

but was almost immediately panned by viewers and critics

For a few seconds, the two stars sat in silence as they
both waited for the other to answer the question.

'Tell them how you feel, Joaquin,' Lady Gaga, 38, said to her costar as she held out a fake microphone
in front of him.

'It's so hard to talk about but I think we feel like we achieved what we set out
to do,' Joaquin, 49, simply stated. 

Someone on X, formerly Twitter, posted the moment online last week and
it went viral, gaining more then 437,000 views in a matter of days - and many users took their initial silence as proof that they 'didn't like' the
film.

The internet has been flooded with negative posts about the flick ever
since it premiered, with one user branding it as a 'bore' and another claiming it had 'no plot.'

Many social media users have also slammed the movie's final scene, which saw main character Arthur Fleck (portrayed by Joaquin)
brutally stabbed to death by a fellow inmate.

This meant that the man that audiences had been watching over the course
of the two movies was never the Joker at all, but in fact, the infamous villain from the Batman series was really just the random inmate who killed Arthur in the last moments of the film.


The shocking twist left numerous viewers unsatisfied, and
they took to social media to share their frustration.




While chatting with Good Morning Britain last week, the two stars were asked
if the movie turned out to be 'everything they
expected' 





Immediately, they both turned to look at one another
and smiled. For a few seconds, the two stars sat in silence as they both waited for the other to
answer the question

'The ending made the movie a complete waste,' one
outraged user wrote. 

'The ending was pathetic,' scathed someone else.
'WTF you mean no Joker?' 

'The ending made no sense,' added another person. 

'That ending? It's so bad that not only it ruins Joker 2 but also the first
Joker for the audience,' read a fourth tweet.

'The Joker had so much potential but that f**king ending ruined everything,' a fifth said. 

The Todd Phillips-directed musical serves as a follow-up to
the 2019 box office hit, which was simply titled Joker. 

The first film grossed over $1 billion and at the time was the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
It received 11 Oscar nominations - two of which it won. 

The sequel, however, has already been much less successful.
It had a lackluster $40 million debut at the box office in its first weekend, and
has a low rating of 33 percent and 31 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.


'Undoing much of the goodwill from its predecessor, the sequel convolutes what could
have been a unique character study into a bloated encore that goes out with a whimper,' reads one review. 

Another critic wrote, 'This movie is a disjointed mess and a waste of time.
It's just tired, not particularly interesting, but it does look
good from a production design standpoint.'

A billionaire couple have won the right to remove a single tree from the driveway of their lavish $20million mansion after being blocked by
their local council. 

Paul Holmes a Court, the son of Australia's first billionaire Robert Holmes a Court,
and his wife Zara had been at loggerheads with their local
council over a request to remove a single peppermint tree growing in the middle of their driveway.


The couple bought the four-bedroom mansion in the affluent, tree-lined suburb overlooking Perth's Freshwater
Bay for $20.1million in August.

They wanted to remove the tree but the Shire of Peppermint Grove refused the
request on the grounds the tree was not dead or deceased. 

'We are very lucky to live here, but I have to say that the tree placement is unusual,' Ms Holmes a Court previously told
a council meeting. 

'I'm quite a reasonable and rational person, but a tree in the middle of the driveway
makes it quite tricky to reverse out.'

The couple enjoyed a breakthrough at a council meeting last week after an alternative
motion was unanimously passed that allowed the tree to be removed on the condition they paid a $2,500 bond before any work was
done on the driveway.

They will also need to plant two replacement trees on their property.

After the motion to remove the tree was passed at the meeting,
councillor Douglas Jackson said it was a 'good outcome'.



'I think it meets both the owners' wants, or expectation, but also
matches the council's needs at the same time by ensuring that there is tree cover on the verge of that property,' he said.


Peppermint Grove is hoping to implement a policy that would even make it an offence to damage or remove any mature trees on private property without council approval.


Last month, WA Planning Minister John Carey said he hoped the Shire of Peppermint Grove would 'take a common sense approach' to the issue.


'This is part of the challenge that we do have with local government.
I've always been on the record that we need local governments to take a common sense approach to issues,
' Mr Carey told the West Australian. 

'And I understand people are passionate about trees. But ultimately,
we do need local governments to assess the situation and find pragmatic outcomes.'

According to the online listing for the four-bedroom,
four-bathroom mansion - which is built on a corner block
along the banks of the Swan River - the sprawling
Federation-style property was built in around 1904.
