An armed man entered the seat of the Serbian Orthodox Church Patriarch on Wednesday, taking two people hostage.

The armed man took two Patriarchy staff hostage before demanding what police said was a large amount of money to free them.

The police were called in and managed to overpower the man who was identified as a former church custodian.
