Irakli Garibashvili Hosts Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Adjara

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia hosted Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Adjara today. A business dinner was held in honor of the visiting official, whereby the Prime Ministers of Georgia and the Republic of Uzbekistan discussed the current relations between the two countries along with prospects of future cooperation.

Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia accompanied the visiting delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the seaports of the country and marine infrastructure to share information about current and anticipated projects in the sector.

Along with Levan Davitashvili, a delegation was hosted in Batumi and Poti by Tornike Rizhvadze, Head of Government of Adjara and Guram Guramishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia as well as Alex Akhvlediani, Director of the Marine Transportation Agency being a legal entity of public law (LEPL). They visited the seaport of Poti and the Black Sea basin together with the Uzbek delegation on a border patrol vessel and got acquainted with the infrastructure and performance of Batumi port as well as the project initiative of a deep-sea port in Anaklia.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan concluded his visit to Georgia today. Abdulla Aripov was escorted to the International Airport of Batumi by Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia.

Along with a Government Delegation, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan arrived in Georgia on July 17. Within the scope of the visit, one-on-one and extended meetings were held by and between the Prime Ministers of Georgia and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Afterwards they signed an Action Plan for the Mutual Practical Development of Bilateral Cooperation by and between Georgia and the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2023-2024.
