SAN FRANCISCO, March 23 (Reuters) - South Korea's LG Energy Solution plans to build a battery factory in Arizona to
supply to Tesla and other customers, two persons familiar with the matter told Reuters.



The U.S. factory is expected to produce cylindrical battery cells of different sizes, for customers, including EV
makers Lucid and Proterra and Philip Morris, maker of iqos
bangkok shop heated-tobacco sticks, one of the persons said.



Another person said startups like electric scooter makers will use batteries from the factory.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said on Tuesday that battery production would
be "the limiting factor" for vehicle production in two to three
years, as the world's largest electric vehicle
maker aims to boost sales. He has called on suppliers to raise production, while Tesla starts making cells itself.


LG did not immediately respond to Reuters' request to comment
outside normal business hours. Tesla, Lucid, Proterra did not immediately respond to request for comment.

Philip Morris declined to comment.

Japan's Panasonic Corp, one of Tesla suppliers, along with Contemporary Amperex Technology
Co, is also looking to invest billions of dollars to build a factory to make a new type
of electric vehicle (EV) battery for Tesla Inc, public broadcaster NHK reported earlier this month.


Panasonic is looking at building the factory in either
Oklahoma or Kansas, not far from Tesla's new Texas vehicle plant, NHK reported.


Sherry House, CFO of Lucid, which has a car factory in Arizona, told Reuters last month that it had signed
multi-year supply agreements with two battery suppliers, and the agreement "does have some capacity coming from state-side cell lines."

She did not identify the companies. Lucid sources batteries from LG and Samsung SDI.

LG, which raised more than $10 billion in its initial public offering in Korea in January, has announced
a flurry of battery joint ventures with GM and Stellantis in the
United States and Canada.

In August, U.S. President Joe Biden signed an executive order aimed at making half of
all new vehicles sold in 2030 electric. (Reporting by Hyunjoo

his role as clown Arthur Fleck who has descended into mental illness. 

Folie à Deux begins with Arthur behind bars in Arkham Asylum, waiting to see whether he will be judged
sane enough to stand trial for the murders

In the meantime he is enjoying his celebrity status with fellow prisoners and
even the warders, one of whom, a sadistic Irishman played by Brendan Gleeson, feeds him cigarettes in return for

loves the dangerously charismatic Joker, 'clown prince of crime', not the
gloomily introspective Arthur.

Eventually, after Arthur's high-profile TV appearance with
a smug interviewer played by Steve Coogan, it is time for the trial,
with all of Gotham gripped by the subject of multiple personality disorder. 

His lawyer (Catherine Keener) strives to show that Joke is accused of five murders, rather than Arthur. Lee just
as urgently wants him to identify as his demonic alter ego. 

In the final scenes, Arthur renounces his Joker alter-ego and is found guilty of first-degree murder.



As he is being sentenced a car bomb detonates outside the court, with
two people helping Arthur escape, but he is later caught by the police and taken back to
Arkham. 

In the Asylum a young patient begins to tell Arthur a
joke, before stabbing him in the stomach and while he bleeds to
death, carves a smile into his own face. 

It raises questions surrounding the Joker's true identity, as it would seem he
never went on to become the famed villain, instead he was
just the person who inspired the man who eventually became him.

Director Todd, told Entertainment Weekly: 'When those guards kill that
kid in the [hospital] he realises that dressing up in makeup, putting on this thing, it's
not changing anything. 

'In some ways, he's accepted the fact that he's always been Arthur Fleck; he's never been this thing that's been put upon him, this idea
that Gotham people put on him, that he represents. 

'He's an unwitting icon. This thing was placed on him, and
he doesn't want to live as a fake anymore — he wants to
be who he is.'

The movie serves as a follow-up to Phoenix's 2019 box office hit,
which was simply titled Joker. 

The Todd Phillips-directed musical was released in theatres on October 4, following an October 2 international
release.
