Sept 28 (Reuters) - Philip Morris International on Thursday
said it would be filing a premarket tobacco product application (PMTA) in the United States for its iqos ราคาถูก ILUMA product in October.


The company at its investor day said that while the PMTA timeline remains "hard to predict", it expects
the launch of the ILUMA heated tobacco units towards
the second half of its three-year forecast period of 2024
to 2026.

IQOS heats up packets of ground tobacco but does not burn them,
a process the company says potentially results in fewer health risks than traditional smoking

A PMTA is required to sell new tobacco products in the United
States, with manufacturers required to provide scientific data demonstrating a product is appropriate for the protection of public health.

The city of Dayton, Ohio no longer hires employees who
use nicotine or tobacco in a bid to create a healthier workplace, cut back on medical costs, and
reduce the 'loss of productivity' from smoke breaks. 

The city will enforce the new rule with all employees hired after from July on but it won't apply to employees who worked
for the city's office beforehand. 

The city will employ a nicotine and tobacco pre-employment screening process.
After being hired, the city will test employees if the office is tipped off about their tobacco use.


'Studies indicate that employees that smoke cost approximately an additional $6,000 per year in direct medical costs and lost productivity,' Kenneth Couch,
Dayton's director of human resources, said. 




The city of Dayton, Ohio will no longer hire employees who smoke cigarettes or vape, effective starting July
15, in a bid to create a healthier workplace and cut down on medical costs

Under the new rule employees will be banned from using nicotine or tobacco products at
work or in their time off. The new plan will also eliminate
designated smoking areas around the city property.  

However, not everyone is on board. 

Leaders of labor unions fear that the new city policy could be a 'slippery
slope' that could further scrutinize the personal habits of employees and their private
lives that have little correlation with their job
performance.

to cook at the Westmorland County Show; also chef Phil Vickery, who certainty knows his alliums; and the force of nature that is Lorraine Stanton, something of a legend around these parts.
But first dinner, and a sublime twice-baked Mrs Kirkham's cheese soufflé, the texture as light as
a sigh, the flavour profoundly, lasciviously rich. Mrs
Kirkham's, now made by her son Graham, is one of the world's great cheeses, and this
is a soufflé of quiet majesty. A mushroom soup is equally splendid, managing
to be both light and gutsy, while Stornoway black pudding with bubble and squeak and
a deep-fried egg is pure Cumbrian comfort by
way of Lewis.

There's a fundamental generosity here, matched by assured technical precision. Duck
à l'orange sees a plump breast cooked rare, the skin crisp, the
sauce just the right side of bitter. It comes with a fat
potato fondant and cabbage spiked with shards of smoked bacon.
I eat rump of lamb, four vast just-pink slices, drenched in the stickiest, most gloriously intense of gravies; by its
side, a tiny shepherd's pie, one bite of pure ovine brilliance.


Puddings are every bit as fine: a lemon tart, beautifully sharp, with damson sorbet (this part of the Lake District is
famed for its damsons); along with a banana soufflé, this time the classic version but ethereal, served with vanilla ice
cream and a pot of sticky-toffee sauce to pour deep into its molten centre.
This is good old-fashioned food, immaculately done, in the sort of pub designed for lingering.
It's getting late now, and we've an early start.
But first, another bottle of wine. Dinners like this are too rare
to be rushed.

dollar on Wednesday, as investors awaited more stimulus from
the world's second-largest economy and the Federal Reserve's September meeting minutes due

steady, giving some relief to the yuan after a sharp rally
to a seven-week high last week.

Spot yuan opened at 7.0650 per dollar and was last trading
12 pips lower than the previous late session close at 7.066.
Prior to the market opening, the People's Bank of China
(PBOC) set the midpoint rate, around which the yuan is allowed to trade in a 2% band, at 7.0568 per dollar, only
3 pips weaker than a Reuters' estimate.
China's blue-chip CSI300 index dropped for the first time since Sept.

13, poised to snapping a 10-day winning streak, after officials
on Tuesday failed to offer much new on stimulus plans to revive the economy.

The yuan is down 0.7% against the dollar so far this month, due
to broad dollar strength, but the currency has 0.5% firmed for the year-to-date.


China equities' recent rally has raised the bar for an upside surprise from expected fiscal stimulus news, said UBS strategists led by
Rohit Arora, adding that the offshore yuan's near-term risk reward is unattractive.
"Historically, fizzling of China equities' spurts acted as a bigger drag on CNH vis-à-vis the tailwinds from equities' surge," the strategists said.


Nevertheless, market participants are still awaiting additional stimulus measures that could help further lift China asset sentiment.
Citi FX traders think the offshore yuan could trade well if local equities
remain supported, similar to what happened in Nov.
2022 - Jan. 2023, according to the bank's note to clients.
The offshore yuan traded at 7.0682 yuan per dollar, up about 0.09% in Asian trade.
The dollar's six-currency index was 0.039% higher at 102.53.

The Joker's real identity was revealed in Folie à Deux's 'brutal ending' - and it's not who you think. 

Identity confusion is the theme throughout the entire film, as the title suggests,
but the ending of the second instalment may leave some fans surprised. 

Following on from 2019's psychological thriller from director Todd
Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix reprises his role
as clown Arthur Fleck who has descended into mental illness. 

Folie à Deux begins with Arthur behind bars in Arkham Asylum, waiting to see whether he will be judged sane enough
to stand trial for the murders he committed two years prior.   

In the meantime he is enjoying his celebrity status with fellow prisoners and
even the warders, one of whom, a sadistic Irishman played by Brendan Gleeson, feeds him cigarettes in return for jokes.

Eventually, after Arthur's high-profile TV appearance with
a smug interviewer played by Steve Coogan, it is time
for the trial, with all of Gotham gripped by the subject of multiple personality disorder. 

His lawyer (Catherine Keener) strives to show that Joke is accused of five murders, rather than Arthur. Lee just
as urgently wants him to identify as his demonic alter ego. 

In the final scenes, Arthur renounces his Joker alter-ego and
is found guilty of first-degree murder.

As he is being sentenced a car bomb detonates outside
the court, with two people helping Arthur escape, but he is later caught by the police and taken back to
Arkham. 

In the Asylum a young patient begins to tell Arthur a joke, before stabbing him in the stomach
and while he bleeds to death, carves a smile into his own face. 

It raises questions surrounding the Joker's true identity, as it would seem
he never went on to become the famed villain, instead he
was just the person who inspired the man who eventually became him.

been put upon him, this idea that Gotham people put on him,
that he represents. 

'He's an unwitting icon. This thing was placed on him, and he doesn't want to
live as a fake anymore — he wants to be who he is.'

The movie serves as a follow-up to Phoenix's 2019 box
office hit, which was simply titled Joker. 

The Todd Phillips-directed musical was released in theatres on October 4, following an October 2 international release.

There will be just 24 'principal residences' in the property including lateral apartments, penthouses and townhouses with
up to five bedrooms, and five more smaller 'pieds-à-terre' apartments.


The size of the homes has not yet been disclosed but the developers say
even the most modest property will start with a guide price exceeded by only
a handful of mansions in London's richest neighbourhoods.

The entry level price of £35 million is 70 times the average London property
value of around £500,000, and 130 times the national average price
of £268,000 revealed in today's Nationwide house
price survey for November.

The development's basement is being dug down to 90ft below ground level to make room for a
health spa with a 20 metre swimming pool as well
as a car park.

The designs were led by New York based architect Robert Stern and practice RAMSA, with contractors, Mace, the construction managers
and PJ Carey responsible for the creation of the basement substructure and superstructure.

the topping out of 1 Mayfair alongside senior members of the construction team.


The ceremony was marked by the final steel rafter, one of 79 at roof level,
being put into place on the top of the nine-storey main apartment building.



No expense has been spared on the building's interior
and it will feature a ceiling with hand-painted frescos based
on Michelangelo's Map of the Heavens in the Vatican, a reception room with a double height ceiling and 18ft high French windows overlooking the garden.

There will also be a Palace of Versailles Hall of Mirrors-style crystal callery,
created from over 1,264 hand-set pieces of cut
glass, a library and a garden gallery, with seating areas opening directly
onto the central courtyard garden.
